For decades, this old Lake Michigan lighthouse has diligently stood guard at the St. Ignace, Michigan harbor in the the Straights of Macinac. The Straights join Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. Today large Great Lakes freighters fill the shipping lanes. While they are impressive they just don't have the mystery or appeal of the tall ships that long ago would dock here.
